Butterfly

Step 1
Open PI - new canvas - 300 x 300 - white.

Step 2
Duplicate canvas two times (Ctrl + D) - you have three canvasses.

Step 3
Use the butterfly ding font text tool - size 250 - 2d - black - use the letters a - c and d, each on a separate canvas.

Step 4
Click in the middle of your first canvas and type the letter a, center both. cetre icon
Repeat with the other two canvasses using the letters c and d.


Step 5
Deselect by clicking somewhere on the white background.
Start with the first butterfly to color in the empty spaces by using the magic wand.

Click on the white spaces in the Butterfly - click the plus on the upper bar.

Keep clicking the empty spaces (leave some empty for a different color) - r/c - convert to object and then fill with color. bucket fill tool

Step 6
Deselect by clicking somewhere on the white background.


Step 7
Repeat with the other empty spaces to fill with a different color.
If you are better with the paintbrush than me, color in the black also.


Step 8
When you have done the coloring, close the eye of the base.

Step 9
Click on one Butterfly - r/c - select all objects - r/c - merge as single object.

Step 10
Repeat this with the other two butterflies and resize each to 100.

Step 11
Open a new canvas - transparent - 500 x 110.

Step 12
Activate one butterfly at a time and copy - paste it into the new transparent canvas.
Arrange the three butterflies to your liking by moving them one in front of the other, having them overlap halfway on top of the previous one.


Step 13
Now r/c on the one you like next - duplicate - move in front of the previous.
Repeat duplicating as many as you need, always a different Butterfly from the
one before, to cover the canvas to the end. ( I have 8 butterflies)
It should look like this.

Step 14
Save as ufo to a folder you will find it again.


Step 15
Open Gif Animator.
Click on ´open an existing file´.
Find your ufo file.

Step 16
Close all the eyes except the first one - add a frame.


Step 17
Open the second eye - close the first eye - add a frame.

Step 18
Repeat till you have them all done.
With the last one, just add a frame without a butterfly showing (9 frames).


Step 19
Click each frame in the storyline and change the timing to 15 -20 - 25 - 18 - 10 - 40 - 100 or any combination you like.

Preview your animation. preview the animation


Step 21
Highlight all frames in the storyline by clicking on the first frame - holding down the shift key - click on the last frame.

Resize animation - Edit - resize - hight 100 (the width will adjust itself).

Preview your Animation.

If you like what you have done continue with step 24. If not go back and trace your step to see where you went off.

Optimize your frames.

Save as gif file.
