Today, we use the PI animation to create a Puddle.
There are other probabilities to create water flowing, which we look at in the next tutorial.
Let's begin.

Step 1
Open a new canvas - 400 X 400 pix - transparent.

Step 2
With the path drawing tool - oval - 2D - any colour,
Draw an oval apr. 200 X 100.

Step 3
R/click - convert from path to image.

Use the elliptical fill tool  elyptical fill tool and choose two different blues.

One dark blue and one lighter blue and fill the oval with it.
Click on the pick tool and adjust the soft edge to 20.


Step 4
Go to the Easy Palette - Animation - Ripple.
R/click - modify and apply.


Use the default settings, but reduce the frames to eight.

8 frames

Click on save and save it to a folder you can find it again.

Step 5
Open the Gif Animator.
Open an existing file and find your puddle.


Step 6
Click on the first frame, hold down the shift key and click on the last frame.
It will highlight all the frames.
Go to Edit - canvas size.

Click away the tick in the aspect ratio - adjust the hight to 250 - position bottom middle - click OK.

Click on the first frame in the storyline to highlight it.

Step 7
Go to Add image and find the graphic I have provided or use your own.

Click on the image in the Layer manager - R/click - duplicate.
Duplicate again and again. You have four images.
Move each image between the puddle image starting with the first puddle.

Now the fun starts.

Step 8


Close all the eyes in the Layer manager except the first puddle and the baby.
Activate the Baby. ( it has a frame around it).
Click on the distortion tool - rotate and put in 10.
Click on the right rounded arrow.
While it is still active, r/click on the Baby in the layer manager - duplicate.
Move the duplicated Baby above the next empty puddle.


Step 9
Click on the second frame in the storyline.

Close the eyes of the first puddle and Baby in the Layer manager.
Open the eyes of the second puddle and the baby above it.
Leave the Baby as is.
R/click on the Baby in the Layer manager and duplicate.
Move the duplicate to above the next empty puddle.

Step 10
Click on the third frame in the storyline.
Close the eyes of the second puddle and the Baby.
Open the eyes of the third puddle and Baby.
Activate the Baby and rotate it to the left.
Repeat the duplicating and moving.

Step 11
Activate the fourth frame in the storyline.
Close the eyes of the third puddle and baby.
Open the eyes of the fourth puddle and Baby.
Duplicate the Baby again and move it to the top.
Activate the fifth frame in the storyline.
Close the eyes of the fourth puddle and Baby in the Layer manager.
Open the eyes of the fifth puddle and baby above it.
Repeat with the rest of the frames.
You may have to shuffle the Baby Image around a little.
Your storyline should look like this.

Play with the timing. I have mine on 20.

Step 12
Highlight all frames in the storyline.
Click on the selection tool selection tool
Put a selection frame around the image.


Go to Edit - crop canvas.

Step 13
If you like what you have done, optimize it.


To keep the kb's down, I have no matte.
