I like to show you how to rub out a section of your picture to see the graphic underneath.
Any similarity to other tutorials are unintentionally.

Let's begin.

Step 1
Open a new canvas 300 X 350 - white.
 duplicate  your base image

Step 2
Decorate the base with anything you like.

base image

(I made a colorful Background and have created a heart and some writing on it and centred it).
Now, hold down the Ctrl key and click on all the things you have created (heart and writing).

R/click - merge as single object.

Step 3
Activate the duplicated base and decorate it with something else.
(I have used a Dover flower and the linear multi coloured fill).
Select the duplicated base and all the decoration you created for this layer,

R/click - merge as single object.

Step 4
Add a frame - 2D - 4 pix wide.
Duplicate the frame.
Add some noise to each frame. ( I have used uniform, monochromatic - 10 on the first frame - 15 on second frame.)
Your layer manager should look like this.

(I made a second layer as background and reduced the transparency that the base is showing through.)

Step 5
Now the fun starts.

Activate the top cover of your card and - r/click - duplicate.

Click on the eraser tool eraser tool   eraser setting  straight line - soft edge 5.
Erase a short potion.
Add a shadow.

To give it a more rugged look, change the eraser setting to - hight 10 - width 1 - angle 90.

And erase portions like this.

rugged edge

When you are satisfied with the look, duplicate this layer.

Step 6
Change the brush-setting back to 40 hight - width 1 or 2 and erase a bit more.
Erase some more and on the end, change the brush setting back to hight 10 - width 1 and make this end look rugged also.
Repeat the duplicating and erasing till you can see the picture underneath.

Step 7
In the layer manager, move the two glitter frames to the top.
Save as ufo to a place where you can find it again.

Step 8
Open the Gif Animator.
Click on Open existing file.

open existing file

Find your ufo file.

Close all eyes except the base, decoration, first top image and the first frame.
Duplicate frame.

Step 9

Open the eye of the second frame, close the eye of the first frame.
Open the eye of the next image, close the one below.
Click on duplicate frame.
Repeat till you have done all the images.
Alternate the glitter frames with each image.

Step 10
I have thirteen frames, but you may have more or less.
In the storyline, change the timing by r/click - animation properties.

80 - 10 - 10 - 25 - 10 - 10 - 25 - 10 - 10 - 25 - 10 - 25 - 100

Preview your animation and if you like what you have done

Optimize it.

Save as gif
